Changing Roles at Bay |
Installed in the late summer of 1999, the new Scitex Lotem 800V platesetter and iris proofing system has proved a winner with the printers. Reports from printers using the CTP plates have said that the excellent fit and cleanliness of the plates has dramatically reduced makeready times. |

"Probably the most impressive repro house we've seen in Britain so far"
This was the reaction of a group of visitors from Scitex who came to visit Bay Graphics in September to do a report for a Scitex Journal. They were very impressed with our custom built unit comparing it to a Scitex showroom. These people constantly travel to varying repro companies throughout the UK so we were very honoured by these comments.
Bay Goes Around The Clock
With the CTP machine taking off and the volume and turnaround of work being so great the Bay Graphics management team have introduced a 24 hour shift pattern . Previously, a cover option was used which meant that whilst there was always somebody on call, production was actually halted in the wee small hours. This progression, we believe, makes us the only repro company in Wales to be open 24 hours a day and adds even more flexibility to our already impressive portfolio. |
As reported above, the new equipment and volume of work has led to the expansion of the Bay Graphics workforce. A warm welcome to Mike Jenkins and Alan Lane to the team. Sarah Bell has also changed her position in the company, she is now the production co-ordinator as well as being in charge of administration. Bob Allen has been transferred from the planning department to the digital department where he's going to find out what real hard work is (so says Chrissy Jones!!). For more information on this bevy of beauties have a look at the Bay People page. |
